    (Pause while Zira glares.)

    “Because I LOATHE bananas!”

  6. Zira and Cornelius is fantastic for Taylor’s Spaceship because I love the movie. That is good in 1971 by 20th Century Fox. Bye for now!

  7. The doctor who wants to kill them is a dumbass. He really thinks the future of the Earth hinges on a paradox? It seems clear that the future cannot create itself, for that would require existence prior to its own existence, and though mysterious and fleeting, the future is not God.

  10. That was really dumb. At least it was the final sequel. I'm glad that the current remakes are so well written and produced.

  12. Take note, people… Zira and Cornelius are responsible for the eventual total destruction of Earth. If they hadn’t gone back in time and had their speech-capable baby to teach other apes to speak, the gorillas would never have evolved to the level were they were capable to wage war against the doomsday bomb-worshiping mutants.

  14. Kim Hunter was PERFECT for the role of Zira. She was also excellent as a guest star on Columbo, playing the ditzy ex-wife of a murdered art collector.

  15. I hadn't seen this movie in years. But knowing how it ended, I could only watch the first hour.

  16. I really loved the ending!! Well written, very well acted! Fabulous!

  17. Cornelius, the self-identified “pacifist”, sure got violent with the attendant who brought them food. 🤔

  18. I've always found it interesting how much of this movie is actually taken from Pierre Boule's original Planet of the Apes novel. In that book, when the narrative character, Ulysse Mérou, is able to reveal himself as a sapient being, instead of facing execution as Taylor did in the movie, he was released and celebrated the way Cornelius and Zira are here.
