Vidyāsthānam In Yāskācārya’s pre-500 BCE Nirukta

Namaste, Hello, this new Desi Funk-Jazz Sanskrit song is titled ‘Vidyāsthānam in Yāskācārya’s pre-500 BCE Nirukta’. Nirukta is both a text and a level 2 category in a system of Indian knowledge called the caturdaśa-vidyā. As per DharmaWiki (see t.ly/phYT): “Chaturdasha vidyas (चतुर्दशविद्याः) are called the Vidyasthanas (विद्यास्थानानि)[3] for they contain the foundational comprehensive knowledge base of the four Purusharthas”. The lines of this Sanskrit song have been chosen from the Nirukta because it is amongst the earliest attestations of the word Vidyāsthānam. With no further ado, here we go:

अर्थमप्रतियतो नात्यन्तं स्वरसंस्कारोद्देशः
तदिदं विद्यास्थानं व्याकरणस्य कार्त्स्न्यम् (1.15)
arthamapratiyato nātyantaṃ svarasaṃskāroddeśaḥ
tadidaṃ vidyāsthānaṃ vyākaraṇasya kārtsnyam
